Child Safety Standards

Ahaar connects food donors, volunteers and recipient organisations across Bangladesh. Ahaar has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards apply to every account, listing, message, photo, document and interaction on the Ahaar app and website.
What is prohibited
- Creating, uploading, sharing, requesting or linking to child sexual abuse material of any kind, including drawn, edited or AI-generated material.
- Grooming, sexualising, soliciting or sexually exploiting a minor, or attempting to contact a minor for any such purpose.
- Using food donations, deliveries or any part of the service to gain access to, traffic, or exploit children.
- Sharing personal information or images of a child in a way that puts them at risk.
- Any other content or conduct that endangers the safety of children.
Who can use Ahaar
Ahaar is intended for adults aged 18 or over and for organisations. Accounts are subject to profile and document review, and we remove accounts that we believe belong to minors.
How we prevent and respond to abuse
- Profiles, verification documents and uploaded photos can be reviewed by our moderation team, and suspicious accounts can be suspended before they take part in any handoff.
- When we become aware of CSAE or CSAM, we remove the content promptly, permanently ban the accounts involved, and preserve relevant records as required for law enforcement.
- We report apparent CSAM and child exploitation to the relevant authorities, including Bangladesh Police and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and we cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
- Our team is trained to escalate child safety reports as the highest priority.
How to report a concern
If you see content or behaviour on Ahaar that may harm a child, report it straight away:
- In the app: use the report or contact option in the app menu to send a child safety concern to our team.
- By email: write to [email protected] with the subject “Child safety report”. Include the account name, listing or delivery details and a description, but do not attach or forward any abusive images.
We review child safety reports as a priority and aim to act within 24 hours.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police first: call 999 (National Emergency Service, Bangladesh). You can also call the Child Helpline on 1098, or report online to the NCMEC CyberTipline.
Compliance with the law
Ahaar complies with applicable child safety laws, including the laws of Bangladesh such as the Children Act 2013 and the Pornography Control Act 2012, and reports to regional and national authorities as those laws require.
