Food Safety
A safe handoff matters more than a completed delivery. These practical checks support the in-app quality checklist.
For donors
- Share only food that has been prepared, stored and handled safely.
- Describe the food, ingredients or dietary concerns, quantity, pickup window and safe-until time truthfully.
- Package food cleanly and keep it at an appropriate temperature until pickup.
- Cancel a listing if the food has spoiled or can no longer be collected safely.
For volunteers
- Check the listing and food condition at pickup. Do not carry food with signs of spoilage, damage or contamination.
- Keep the food protected during transit and deliver promptly.
- Follow the app's quality check and report a concern rather than completing an unsafe handoff.
For recipients
- Check packaging and condition on arrival and confirm receipt only after the handoff.
- Use or distribute food promptly and follow appropriate storage practices.
- If food seems unsafe, do not consume or distribute it. Contact [email protected] with the delivery details.
